Program 1
ARRIVAL ON DECEMBER 30th
Day 1. Yerevan-Echmiadzin-Zvartnoc-Yerevan (60km)
Arriving at the airport "Zvartnots" where Santa Claus and Snow Maiden will meet you with a festive gaily decorated plate. You will go to the hotel in Yerevan with songs and dances accompanying you, where a little festive Christmas tree will wait for you as well. After 2 hour rest you will enjoy the trip to Echmiadzin - the historic center of Armenian Apostolic Church. Here is located the Monastery with the residence of the Catholicos of All Armenians, Echmiadzin Cathedral and seminary. In Echmiadzin you will also visit the Churches of St.Hripsimeh (618), Basilica Dome St.Gayaneh (630., restored in 1652) with the three-arch Gavit (narthex, 1683), St.Shogakat Church (1694) and Zvartnots (Temple of angels). In the evening you will have a guided tour to the capital of Armenia, which will be completed at the observation deck, where the fascinating panorama of Yerevan will greet you.Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 2. Free day
Breakfast at hotel. Free day, you can spend your day shopping or visiting a beauty salon and getting prepared for evening's festivities. At 00:00 - New Year's Eve! In an Armenian way and current tradition! You will enjoy the show-program, music and dancing till the morning. (Details of the program will be provided later).
Day 3.Armenian Traditional Khash
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning Khash (the national dish / optional).
Day 4. Yerevan( Matenadaran Museum)-Oshakan-Yerevan(100km)
After a wholesome breakfast you will visit the institute of ancient manuscripts, Matenadaran, where there are stored over 17,000 ancient manuscripts and more than 100,000 ancient historical documents. Besides the 13,000 preserved Armenian manuscripts here, you will also find more than 2000 Russian, Hebrew, Latin, Arabic, Syrian, Greek,
Japanese, Persian and other manuscripts, as well as manuscripts from V-XVIII centuries and a
unique collection of early printed and ancient Armenian books from XVI-XVIII centuries. Later, after learning
about the history of Armenian manuscripts you will visit Mashtots`s grave - the creator of
the Armenian Alphabet, the missionary, Bible translator, the founder of a
national school. On the way to the village of Oshakan
you will have a small stop in the Alphabet Square- a monument of the
Armenian alphabet. Here you can find the initials to your name and take an original picture of you at the carved monument. Already in the
church you will be served a delicious lunch. You will feel majestic aura and the
greatness of this place at the same time learning a
lot of stories about the History of the Church and literature in
Armenian. You will hear church chanting and
the majestic sounds of organ.
Day 5. Yerevan-Lake Sevan-Tsaghkadzor-Yerevan(150km)
Breakfast
at the hotel. Trip to the Lake Sevan, visiting Sevanavank Monastery, which is located at the same-name peninsula, from where you will admire a panoramic view
of "pearl of Armenia" . At lunch, of course, there will be served "Sevan Prince" (a noble species of fish called "Ishkhan" in Armenian). Trip to
Tsaghkadzor - the most polpular ski resort in Armenia.Transfer on the cable car. Here you can choose something for your joy. The most adventurous,of course, is the rush to conquer the slopes of the Armenian mountains (skiing,
snowboarding, storm), while others can ride on a sled or just play snowballs, and can prefer some hot
tea at an altitude of 2,500 meters above sea
level. Walking tour to Kecharis Moanstery Complex. The
monastery was founded in the 11th century by Armeian Noble Pahlavuni Princes and during XII-XIII centuries it was a major spiritual center
of Armenia with its medieval schools and scholars. After having dinner you will enjoy your time by playing bowling in one
of clubs of Thsaghkadzor town. It's time to share in groups and play for life and
death :) Losers will buy drinks at
the disco ... Take a breath DISCO is waiting for you!
Late at night return to Yerevan.
Day 6. Yerevan-Garni-Geghard-Yerevan (Ararat Brandy Factory) (130km)
Breakfast. Excursion to the Pagan Temple of Garni (1st century AD) and Gegard Moanstery Complex (12th century) - monuments under UNESCO protection. Here you can watch how Armenian dried fruits and Armenian delicious gata (an Armenian traditional dessert) are prepared.Dinner will be at the place of a hospitable peasant, where you will take directly involved in the process of making Armenian barbecue or Khorovats. In case you are eager to feel the Armenian daily life in its all odds and colors, they will also teach you playing one of the Armeians' favorite games called "Nardi" (backgammon).Return to Yerevan. Visit Yerevan Brandy Factory "Ararat". Тasting brandy.
Day 7. Yerevan-Zvartnoc airport (30km)
Breakfast. Check-out.Free day.Shopping.
In the evening, FAREWELL Banquet.
